"I was only there for one night. A lovely hotel. I just wish I had, had the time to try the facilities. My only issue was the marshmallow pillows. Even with 2 they were far too soft. I resorted to using the cushions, supplied."

"Food at restaurant was delicious, breakfast buffet was great, room was ok but walls between rooms veeeery thin and first night I was kept awake for 3 hrs listening to the couple in the room next to me having noisy sex. Bathroom was freezing cold when it was cold outside. But staff was lovely and helpful in every way "

"Abbey Abcoude is such a gem! The rooms were so clean and comfortable, and the staff was so welcoming! I also appreciated the restaurant below that serves excellent food as it is so convenient for travelers coming in and waiting to check in. The staff went above and beyond and held our luggage until check in time, and they allowed us to check in early which was great! The train station that goes to central city was only a 10 minute walk and it was so convenient!"

"Amazing hotel, we had the family room that was made for children, it had anything you'd need and more - our little one loved picking up the books and sat in the comfy chair to read them. There was also a changing table, lovely cot and a baby bath, which made us feel like we were at home. "Stayed here 6 nights while dropping off my daughter for her semester abroad. The location, staff, facilities are 5 star all the way. Parking(reserved in advance of stay) made life so much easier. The Nox is s stones throw from the Dom and hundreds of excellent food and shopping options. Truly a magical stay!"

Row row row your boat... with all the luggage

"We stayed in the island lodge. The lodge itself is very nice, only downpoint of the actual lodge is lack of storage space in the kitchen. My biggest complaints about this place were 1. When making the booking it NEVER mentioned that the only way to access your lodge is via a small rowing boat. I kid you not. I was with a family of 5, and none of us had ever rowed a boat a day in our lives. Had i known this upfront i would never have booked this lodge. THIS ROOM IS NOT SUITABLE FOR ANYONE WITH MOBILITY ISSUES!!And that should be described in the room information. 2. You cant leave the island when its dark because its pitch black. This restricted what we could do and also prevented me from attending a planned meal out with a client. We asked the morning after we arrived if we could change rooms but only at a cost of nearly 400 euros for 2 further nights. I think the staff think its hilarious but it ruined what was supposed to be a chance for us to get away and relax while i did a couple of days work. "
