"The hotel position on the beachfront was fantastic. Breakfast and meals looking out at the sea and the surfers you could not beat or the view from the infinity pool. The rooms were well decorated and spacious, with a huge balcony, ours had an elevated sea view which we loved. The food in the restaurant was delicious and most importantly the staff, they were so attentive and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. "Overall our stay at Medewi Bay Retreat was wonderful. Since this was our first trip to Bali, we didn’t have a lot of experience with the different areas of the island, and didn’t realize how remote this area was. We knew Medewi was a very popular surf destination and nearby to Negara, but other than that it is a far more rural/remote area than Kuta, Changgu or Ubud. "Road to the property was terrible, unpaved, rocky and in the middle of nowhere, a detail that should have been mentioned in the listing. My friend got a food poisoning form there and we property doesn’t take credit card as paiement for food."

"The property had no knowledge of our booking when we arrived. I had emailed them twice before for information and had no response. After waiting for them to check they gave us a room. We were the first and only ones there for this season. Both my wife and I got conjunctivitis and needed treatment which I believe could of only come from the shower water or pool water. You could feel the slime under your feet In the pool. It ruined 4 days of our holiday. The group kitchen is very limited....

"The Kelapa Retreat and Spa is a glorious oasis far from the bustling areas of Bali. It is truly gorgeous and it seems that all the rooms are amazing and unique. The views are amazing, the infinity pools very relaxing, the beach is gorgeous and it feels like it is private. The waves and current can be string but its super fun for boogey boarding. The food is outstanding and the bar makes an incredible array of drinks for all tastes. They have daily free activities and a beautiful spa. The resort also offers transportation and a selection of tours. I'd recommend waiting until you get to the resort to choose your day trips. We had a truly phenomenal time enjoying the beauty and tranquility of the place while also appreciating the culture and hospitality of Bali."

Lovely Christmas

"The Mimpi Resort was a great choice. The rooms and courtyards with hot tubs offered great comfort and privacy, peace, and quiet. The restaurant has excellent food. And the staff were truly exceptional in their efforts to make us as comfortable as possible. The only downside is mosquitos. Not in air-conditioned rooms, but outside. So bring bug spray and mosquito coils and have a wonderful holiday."

"Wonderful setting, lovely to snorkel off the beach, rooms amazing. Diving good. Pool And pool area absolutely stunning. View from property stunning. I am stayed in most basic tent option first and later the tent with a view and a private pool. Both were equally amazing. Although they are tents they have all mod cons and are beautifully decorated. Grounds really well cared for. Really appreciated that there are drinking water dispensers scattered throughout the property. Staff very nice. View stunning. Setting stunning. One downside - terrible food. Both Indonesian and western cooked food was often inedible. I would still go back. The place is so above average in every other way that I didn’t mind that the food was not good. I highly recommend the place but foodies should be prepared for disappointment "

"The Plataran Menjangan provides an oasis of peace and serenity. I loved being away in the bush, but in such a luxurious bungallow, and seeing so many amazing animals. Staying here for 5 nights was such a treat and a great way to recharge myself after a really stressful period. A truly magical place"

"This is a very interesting property….driving up the very narrow dirt road…we had the feeling that we made a wrong turn! Many private villas that compromise the resort….restaurants were exceptional- food and service outstanding and the spa was next-level!!! It was a bonus for us that we had one of only a handful of bungalows without a private pool….which meant we enjoyed nearly all to ourselves the 30 meter infinity edge pool with view of the sea and Java’s volcanoes ….was better than a private villa!!!! Not to be missed is the snorkeling day trip out to Menjangan island….clarity of water, so many live corals and incredible amounts of fish….gave us a bit of hope for our planet! Only downside is the vast amount of noise emanating from multiple nearby mosques….sounded like they were competing with one another…..🌠"
