"Ryosha Tsukiakari is a lovely place to stay near Mt Fuji. The inn is charming; it is a semi-traditional inn (tatami mat rooms with futons in a more modern building). I'm glad I stayed here. That said, there are some caveats (these are NOT meant to diminish a stay here): 1) Traditional: take your shoes off on entering the building and use slippers in the public areas. Once in your room, slippers are only for the toilet/lav areas; you must remove the slippers to walk on the tatami floors...

"The host was so kind and generous. We had arrived 1 day before our scheduled booking, by my mistake. The host offered to let us wait in the lobby for a taxi, and when he found that we could not get one as it was late at night, he offered to drive us to the nearest 7-eleven, in his personal vehicle, after hours. We were so grateful, and would highly recommend this hotel. We had a great experience. No cons whatsoever. "

"Perfect Japanese style room. Definitely recommend for holiday at nearby resorts. But not for anything romantic as it’s a family oriented place. note bathroom and showers are shared and from 5-9pm only. Good for a group or a couple on a quick holiday."

"This is a good place to stay if your main focus is skiing/snowboarding. This is more of a rustic cabin stay. Our room had two beds and an attached bathroom. There is a restaurant with some dinner service at night. You are a 5 minute walk to the ski slope and a 1 minute walk from a ski rental shop and a western style pub restaurant. It did take us about 15-20 minutes to walk down the hill to the Lawsons, so you might need to stock up on snacks or waters before heading up to the cabin. Overall we...

"If you are looking for an easy access to the mountains at a good price it is the place to go. The room was very clean and the mattress very comfortable. We had a room w/out bathrooms so we used the common bathroom and it was very clean and organized, they provided you with towels, shampoo, conditioners and soap like any hotel bathroom would. They also have a laundry room where soap and dry sheets are available to be used for free. The only down size for me was the internet in my room was on and...

"This was our third stay at Freedom Inn. We love the location within walking distance to the ski field but away from touristy Hirafu. They have a great pick up drop off shuttle service which can take you to dinner in either Hirafu or Kutchan. Try Kutchan for a more authentic japanese experience. You can even stop by an onsen on the way! There also is a free shuttle to/from the ski lifts. The rooms are very spaceous and there is an onsen/ouffro on site too. "the owner is very nice and welcoming. our room was on the first floor and the shower was 2 floor under our floor and I found it not so convenient. the toilet on our floor was smelly. "
