"The main room was good. Great views and plenty of space to relax. The letdown was the bathroom. It was tiny with very dated fittings and nowhere to put toiletries. It was also at a higher level meaning a really big step down into the main room which was potentially a safety risk."

"This is the best Hostel to book on any budget. Since it is also a cafe the interior is upper nice and modern looking. As in the name, the interior is all made of wood and has that amazing wood smell that makes you feel so welcomed and at peace. "We enjoyed the ryokan very much for the authenticity of old Japan. The dinner and breakfast were outstanding. Wearing the yutaka at the property was such a thrill for us. The staff were so friendly, kind and attentive. Thank you for your hospitality. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Such a contrast from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and Osaka central. "Some things may be a little outdated in the Nara Visitor Center & Inn but it is the best bang for your buck in town & the staff was outstanding - so friendly & helpful! I’m so glad we decided to spend a couple of days in Nara instead of just doing it as the day trip that it is so often marketed as.
