"This lovely place is conveniently placed for your time in Matamata. We took a Hobbiton tour, enjoyed a St. Patty's Guiness and coffees in town. Friendly manager ( thanks Andy) ensures you have essentials in your clean welcoming room. Love the windows for fresh air and blooming hydrangea in the yard. Retro vibes."

"The property was beautiful and had such a great time while we were there, really looking forward to staying again. Only comment would be on the cleanliness of the bathroom as the shower had water marks and soap scum all over the glass, bath hadn’t been cleaned as there were hairs throughout and the toilet and basin had stains. Laura the general manager is so lovely and accommodating so thank you for everything my family had a wonderful time"

"This is a very rustic property with lots of character. I didn't partake, but was told the included breakfast was very good (apparently the chef is a pastry chef) the room was comfy, and the area was serene. If you stay here you have access to the natural hot pools 24/7. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed 4 days and it was nicely convenient to a lot of places. "the motel was easy to find, the manager was friendly, and went out of her way to assist me with my late check in. the facilities were clean and fresh without ugly "artwork'. There was plenty of hot water and the shared bathroom allowed me enough privacy"

"Had a one night stay following a trip to Hobbiton movie set. Stayed in chalet Frodo which is only a 10-15 min drive from Hobbiton.The chalet is very clean and well appointed. While quite compact it had everything the two of us required for an overnight stay. We had dinner at Osteria restaurant in the main centre which is only a 3 min drive away. Thoroughly recommend Osteria for quality of food, portion size , atmosphere and price"
