Rest in the public square, visit the casino and check out the array of duty-free products in this two-story open-air mall.

Heritage Quay is a modern open-air shopping complex with two floors offering a great range of stores and duty-free goods. It has a lively ambiance, with restaurants, a bandstand and a casino. Take a break from the scorching afternoon heat with a trip to some of the upscale shops.

Browse the many stores for a range of souvenirs to remember your trip to Antigua. Hunt for bargains from the duty-free products. Among the items in the mall are jewelry, liquor and works of art. Consider purchasing some of the fishing and watersports equipment, perfume, cosmetics and electronics.

Relax at one of the bars with a cold drink and watch people go by. The mall area is far busier on cruise ship days and just before and after arrivals. Climb to the terraces and alleys of the second floor of this multi-colored mall. Visit at night, when the streetlamps and trees are decorated in bright lights.

Dine on succulent seafood at one of the restaurants, where shrimp salads are among the specialties. Stroll along the cobbled pedestrianized streets of this outdoor mall. Try your luck at the King’s Casino, where you can withdraw money without charge.

At the northern end of the mall is the 39ers Public Square. Relax in this spacious plaza and admire the boat-shaped red monument in its center. It commemorates Vere Cornwall Bird, who helped to form the nation’s first trade union in 1939.

Walk along the 500-foot (150-meter) pier beside the mall and enjoy the views of the Caribbean Sea. Embark on a cruise to a nearby island from this spot.

Enter the mall for free. Most stores are open from early morning until late afternoon.

Heritage Quay is in the southern part of St. John’s on the western coast of the isle of Antigua. See other landmarks in the area, such as the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda, St. John’s Wesleyan Holiness Church and Saint John’s Cathedral.
