Inside the Villaggio Mall in Doha, visit Gondolania, the city’s thrilling fairground and its largest family entertainment attraction. You’ll find a true carnival atmosphere here, with bright lights, rides for kids of all ages plus plenty of attractions including a Venetian gondola boat ride that cruises along the indoor canal.
It’s hard to know where to start in Gondolania. Older children will be drawn to the thrilling rides including the huge roller coaster that plunges 62 feet (19 meters) underground, a wet and wild log flume ride and the spooky Horror Street. There is the stomach-lurching freefall Drop Tower, as well as the dizzying Viking ride which swings from side to side. Let the kids compete on the karting track, or join them for a family skate on the Olympic-sized ice skating rink.
Small children aren’t left out at Gondolania, with rides and playgrounds dotted all over the fairground for children under the age of 5. Take them to the huge soft play area where they can tumble in ball pits, climb and explore. They can also board the colorful carousel or mini train.
Come together as a family to enjoy a game or two of bowling in the 12-lane bowling alley, or be amazed at the graphics of a 4-D movie. A large food hall has fast food outlets and coffee shops, as well as many restaurants to choose from.
Gondolania and the Villaggio Mall are located in the Baaya Municipality, 8 miles (13 kilometers) from Doha’s city center.
