"The Royal Palm offers a truly immersive Galápagos experience—set inland on a stunning 100 acre property, far from the touristy feel of the ports. Recently under new ownership, the property is being refreshed: rooms are spacious and renovated, the pool has been redone, and quiet renovations are underway, including apparently a unique lava tunnel spa. Some exterior areas still need attention, but the overall feel is serene and authentic. Service is top-notch and boutique-level, with attentive, personalized touches throughout. A special thank you to Gustavo, the ever-present and gracious manager. The restaurant is excellent, with a warm team—Rita made us feel at home and remembered our names. Breakfasts are fresh, varied and awesome. Excursions can be organized by the hotel and work seamlessly. Duncan gave us a deep dive into the island’s geology and ecology, while Maritza kept our 8–14-year-olds fully engaged with her energy and knowledge. Boat tour days were a highlight—fantastic snorkeling, incredible island views, and a surprisingly gourmet chef onboard (kudos)! The boat crew was kind and professional. Guide quality, however, faltered which was disappointing. Overall, The Royal Palm is a peaceful, character-rich base for a Galápagos trip—elevated by excellent service, comfort, and nature. "

"We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Islas Galapagos. Our room was clean and quiet and the manager was extremely nice. The dining area had a refrigerator, toaster and microwave. The hotel is a short walk to restaurants and the harbor. Muchas Gracias, Hotel Islas Galapagos!"

"We stayed at the Posada del Mar three different times during our month in the Galapagos and really enjoyed our visits. It is on a quiet street, yet conveniently located near restaurants, shops and the Puerto Ayora harbor. The delicious breakfast is served on the terrace overlooking the harbor. Our rooms were very comfortable and clean, with air conditioning, a private bathroom and lots of hot water. The staff is very friendly. Carlos and his wife were wonderful and let us store our luggage at the office during the hours between checkout and our ferry departures and arranged for a taxi to take us to the Baltra airport. "I was really impressed with the service provided and the friendliness of the staff, they really helped to make my trip to Isla Isabela as memorable as could be. The staff were simply terrific and made sure I understood how tours and ferry/taxi services worked, and when there was a small mix up with a tour the desk clerk was able to have it corrected and send me on my way so the little delay. The hotel is very clean and extremely accommodating and is a great option for what I was looking for, they had 110 volt electricity and great air conditioning in the rooms. The morning breakfast overlooking the lagoon is a great way to start the day and meet other travelers, and when I left for a morning ferry before the kitchen opened the thoughtful staff left a care package of drinks and snacks for me at the desk which was very unexpected and really made me smile when I saw that. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone, I was only sorry that I didn’t extend my stay here as they were fantastic to me."

"Captain Max B & B is great. Located in a quiet area but only a few blocks from the center of restaurants, shopping, and the pier. The amenities are great like all day coffee/tea bar, filtered water, a safe in the room, and a carafe of drinking water in your room. The place is spotlessly clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. My only regret was that I couldn’t stay longer. This place is good value for the price. It is a must stay place if you are in Puerto Ayora."

"This hotel was in a great location on the beach. We walked out of our room right onto the beach and close to everything. We had the cutest sea lion that has been living alone at the hotel that is so adorable. Nice breakfast on the rooftop is nice. The hotel is very clean and beds were so comfy and the air conditioning is very good. "
