"Good facilities, good size for 6 people supermarket 5 minute walk away. Spa and pool excellent the kids loved it, well equipped kitchen. The only problem was the smoke detectors are very sensitive, there's one on the bathroom which was triggered by steam from the shower and one was set off by spray deodorant, so security show up and say there's a problem and you have to open the balcony door, not ideal in winter. Overall a good stay."

"Loved this hotel. A fantastic location. However the WiFi in the room was terrible. We had to sit next to our door in order to get good WiFi access. If we sat on the bed or at the table near the window, we basically had no WiFi. Other than that, I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. "

"Good location for transport to bruges & hotel a good price. But no reception staff or facilities (time of year?). We had no power in the room 212. Got moved to the next floor, room 107, but no power there either or heating, so returned our stuff back to 212 where briefly he was able to get power on to.There was an emergency phone number, but we only found this the next day during the move on the 1st floor. "The hotel is well located in the city centre but not frontline beach. Quite a basic hotel with no frills or air conditioning in the room. The mattress on the bed was probably the softest I've ever slept on and really not my style. No 24 hour reception, in fact it closes at 6pm which is not great. On the night we stayed this price was way to high for the quality. "

"The Upstairs hotel was a very stylish and fun hotel just steps from the beach. The staff was really friendly and helpful! One small point is if you do book one of the small/cheap rooms, they aren't easily accessible via the lifts. You will need to go down a couple of flights of stairs which can be tough with heavy luggage. Otherwise I highly recommend this hotel when staying in Ostend!"

"No towels… must rent them. No hand soap in bathroom or kitchen. Bed is not made must make it yourself. Dead bugs on floor. Hallway area was run down and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. We paid extra for an ocean view room and did have a great view and overall felt relatively safe. "

Great location

"Lovely hotel in a good location. Excellent breakfast buffet. Friendly staff. The air conditioning in my room wasn’t working and no one was available to fix it. Fortunately I could open the window without too much disturbance but it would have been nice if they could move my room or fix the problem."
