"Lovely hotel. Only disconnect we experienced is the fact that we initially received most likely the worst room in the entire hotel. After double checking my reservation, I asked the front desk to check my reservation and sure enough, I was moved to one of the nicer rooms. That should not happen in the hear 2023! "

"A bit mixed. Lovely setting, nice traditional hotel, good pool area, good staff, breakfast great, has some parking, good food in the evening too. However room was a bit dated, dark (not enough lights), noisy people above, creaky bed, shower small. And they seemed under-staffed in the restaurant. They did however provide two very good meals for us "

"Friendly hotel but rather sloppy room service with cleaner leaving her own drinnk in our room for two days before I had to ask for it to be removed. Unwilling to accomodate breakfast earlier than 8am on Saturday but found that this could be done when another (and clearly more important )guest asked. Reasonable kitchen but rather overpriced. Everything was extra including bottled water in room but no tea/coffee making facilties"

"Great room, nice hotel building and great location for the ferry but bathroom was filthy with the shower area, around the floor and near the toilet looking like it hasn't been cleaned in years. Some sort of proudly-displayed "Green is the new clean!" but I'd strongly suggest going back to old-fashioned cleaning instead of letting nature take its course in a hotel bathroom. Beautiful furnishings, service and lovely and cosy in the winter with open fire in these shared areas. Beautiful, old-school grand hotel vibes.

"Beautiful, old-school grand hotel vibes. But in the best of ways. Extensive nautical theme, with great regional history. Large, well-appointed rooms. Water-side rooms on upper levels have a stunning view of the canal. Restaurant was very good. Bar/lounge has booked shows, so check in advance and buy tickets if you're interested. Very reasonable on-site parking, but there was always available street parking as well. "
