If you’re here with older children why not head to Tayto Park Farm, where you can get up close to farm animals such as sheep, goats, pigs, donkeys and cows. Alternatively, you could also visit Tayto Park’s woodland safari, where you’ll be able to see some more unusual creatures including wolves, foxes, exotic birds of prey and even some big cats.
For the thrill-seeking adults and teenagers, Tayto Park also has some white-knuckle rides. Scream on the rollercoaster, conquer the climbing wall or speed down the extreme zip line. Younger children will love the Tiny Tater’s Patch, an adventure playground suitable for ages up to six.
If you’d prefer to leave the kids to it, Tayto Park also has some beautiful woodland walking trails, where you can take a relaxed stroll with views over the farmland safari and the rolling Irish countryside beyond. Open every day from April to August and on weekends from September to December, Tayto Park near Ashbourne makes a great alternative day out in the heart of County Meath.
