Taste a variety of olives and olive-based products, including oils, tapenades, dressings and condiments, at this shop and olive grove.

Eagle Bay Olives is a family-owned olive oil producer. Stop by their olive farm and browse their on-site shop, where all kinds of gourmet olive products, homeware items and gifts are sold.

The site features some 1,200 olive trees that were first planted back in 1998. The company produced its first batch of olive oil in 2002 and opened the on-site shop in 2006. Come here to taste their oils, which have seen them become the only extra virgin olive oil producer in the region to get official certification from the Australian Olive Association.

Before entering the shop, pause to admire the two life-size painted cows set out front. Browse the gourmet products in the shop, including two different styles of extra virgin olive oil, as well as range of pestos, tapenades, dukkahs and dressings, all of which are free from preservatives. Shoppers are encouraged to taste the products before buying.

The shop is also stocked with gourmet products from other local producers as well as toiletries and homewares, including olive oil soaps, kitchen utensils made from olive wood and handmade ceramic oil bottles. Ask staff in the shop to tell you more about their production processes, which follow organic principles. No toxic chemicals are used and quality control checks are enacted at every step.

Pick up a picnic pack for you and your companions and head to the farm’s picnic garden. Find a shaded spot under the trees and unpack your alfresco feast. After eating, challenge your friends to a game of quoits, which involves throwing rings to land them over a spike. Kids will enjoy petting Eagle Bay’s miniature donkeys.

Find Eagle Bay Olives on Cape Naturaliste Road. The shop is open daily in December and January, except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. During the rest of the year, it is open from Friday to Sunday, and on Monday public holidays. Entering the shop is, of course, free.
