"Terrific Newport location! Just on the other side of Easton Beach from Newport, without being in the more crowded and pricier section of Newport. Plus, right next to beach access and 10 feet from Flo's Clam Shack, with other restaurants nearby. Great location also, if you run; terrific paths along waterside neighborhoods and to the other Newport beaches. Good size room. Love having fridge and microwave. Big open lounge with tables for families to eat at are helpful in the 2nd story lounge,...

"Tim at the front desk was so sweet and extremely helpful. Tim has some of the best guest service I've come across in a long time. Heads up - parking is $40/per night. We stayed in the nicer 1 bedroom loft rooms, they were very muggy and uncomfortable, as far as air qaulity. It was hard to sleep at night being so hot. They need central air in those rooms, or at least fans. If you opened a window or balcony door, it helped, but then you also have to worry about the bugs & seagulls coming in...

Le petit déjeuner est copieux, dommage cependant qu'il n'y ait qu'une salle avec 3 tables seulement car on doit attendre que les personnes aient fini. Cependant on peut emporter le petit déjeuner dans sa chambre avec un plateau. "

"Absolutely loved my stay here! Perfect location to do the Cliff walk and enjoy the mansions of Newport. Staff were so lovely. Breakfast was delicious and the wine & canapés each day at 5-6pm was a lovely touch. I enjoyed them in front of the fire. The room was excellent! I stayed in the Lark suite; huge tub, gorgeous marble bathroom, a lovely gas fireplace that kept the room warm and cozy. Very clean. And homemade chocolate chip cookies available each evening by the tea/coffee station....

"For our 25th anniversary we chose Newport, RI for a getaway. As first time visitors, we researched options and chose the Vanderbilt because it seemed central in location and the fact there were onsite spa services and good bar. This first choice was fortunate because we then met Morgan, the lead concierge. I booked the hotel and then immediately emailed re:spa services. Morgan called within 5 minutes of my email to book our appts and then proactively offered other services, ideas, and resources....

This hotel is in a beautiful historic mansion on the ocean inlet and a is short walk to the oceanfront state park. The staff is helpful and eager to please, reminiscent of other top tier hotels. The massive oceanside lawn has many Adirondack style chairs to enjourage outdoor rest or socializing. There are indoor and outdoor bars that accomidate every taste even non-alcoholic...
