"Really lovely ryokan and onsen with beautiful ocean views. The futons were very comfortable, as well. It's a little outside of Wakayama city (about 30 minutes/¥3500 by taxi), but there is a nearby bus and they have a parking area if you are driving. The staff speaks a little English, but don't expect the same level of English that you might get at a larger, urban hotel. Overall, it was very relaxing and I would definitely recommend it."

"I didn’t really like having to leave my shoes at the front and use public slippers, the bathroom was useful but a bit cramped and the cooler/heater was hard to get the right temperature in the room. But I really liked the hot tub onsen and the staff were mostly friendly. "

"Good value for money. The name is very deceptive, as the hotel is on a canal that leads to an industrial harbor. The room is very large with a 5 star bathroom. The air conditioning and lighting were good but very hard to figure out, as there were no English instructions."

"It is very old and not enough elevator for that many rooms. You should expect long waiting time for the elevator to come. Inside the room is renovated and close to public transportation. A good place to 'just sleep"."

"Beds were comfortable and the ocean view was lovely. The pool, hammocks and cafe/restaurant area was great. The shared facilities (particularly showers) were in a different part of the building and not so nice. The beach was not good for swimming but great for SUP."
