"The room was good. Beds were comfortable. However, as I read in previous comments, cleanliness was really poor, specially in the bathroom. There was a crockroach in the toilet when we arrived. "

"Enjoyed the brewery and the beer tastings. Very lively bar and restaurant with a live Latin band. Fun place to dance and laugh with other guests. The property is a little dated and needs a major upgrade. Good value for a short stay"

"This was a wonderful stay in a remarkable place. The room was very comfortable with a balcony with a fantastic view. The food was excellent and the staff were really kind. The highlight was the "safari" with Kenneth, around the property to see birds. One of the best birding experiences we've had. Palo Verde was closed, but this allowed us to see huge flocks of birds in the wetlands right next to Palo Verde. We then walked around several times, as well. "This was a very nice little hotel and a nice little small town. Everything was very clean and overall it was a great experience a little bit off the beaten path. The restaurant downstairs was fantastic and included a breakfast with the stay, which was excellent. We had a fantastic dinner there as well. Everyone was very nice. "Wonderful stay at Arenal Observatory Lodge. Our only disappointment was not being able to see the volcano in its entirety due to stubborn low hanging clouds. It’s a beautiful property with lots to see for nature lovers and bird watchers. Bring rain gear even if it is supposed to he the dry season. Don't miss The Nest tower."

Rustic, beautiful, perfect

"Absolutely love staying here! Even the drive-in from the Liberia airport was beautiful and we saw so many monkeys along the way! You are very isolated in a little rustic log cabin that backs up to the national forest. There is one restaurant on site which actually had very good food and incredibly sweet service. The property is absolutely beautiful and perfect for somebody who is low maintenance, not looking for a lot of amenities, and just wants to enjoy nature and peace. Being a Being adjacent to rincón de la vieja and near La Leona waterfalls was very convenient. Absolutely would stay here again! "
