Staff was super helpful and friendly. The hotel itself wasn’t bad but could use a few tweaks such as new bedding. Overall they stay was good and affordable.

There have been obvious attempts to modernize the place. New flooring, electronic door locks, nice bed, etc. But some of the work wasn’t done well. Cracked tiles where the new shower curtain rod was installed. Also, the area was overly busy with three other hotels and two restaurants on the same small side road. And one night we were subjected to a constant pounding noise from one of the rooms above us.

This was the worst place I’ve stayed in by far. The unit was supposed to be non smoking it was smoked in heavily. The room was so filthy we had to sleep on our clothes as blankets and pillows. It definitely felt like it was infested with bedbugs. We immediately looked for another location but did not find one. The bathroom we didn’t even want to use it. The shower curtain was torn off the bathtub leaked. It was just horrible. We checked out by 7am the next day. Immediately bought clothes at Walmart as that was the only store open at that time and washed everything we had brought with us. Charlottesville is beautiful. Stay anywhere else.

I chose this property in part because it listed a pool. But the pool was CLOSED on Memorial Day Weekend. Very disappointing. The outdoor pool did look pleasant but I could not use it. The carpet in the lobby and to the room was dirty with obvious small pieces of trash visible. My room card did not work when I returned to the room 3 times forcing me to visit the front desk each time to get the card recoded. The door latch did not seem to work correctly and I reported it to the front desk. The buttons for the AC unit the room did not seem to do anything. It was a bit too cool in the room but I could not adjust the temperature or fan speed. The breakfast had waffles. But did not have maple syrup except for a small bottle of No Sugar syrup. A bit disappointing. I will look to stay somewhere else next visit to Raleigh.
