"Nice hotel, welcoming and comfortable. Restaurant food lacked in choice for vegetarians and vegans, not really any healthy choice. But the staff were lovely and the service was great. Room was comfortable and practical, though the colour choice was a bit odd & the shower was small even for me, a small woman. But that could be that I had the odd room at the end of the corridor that the designer squeezed in."

Enter the public car park gates at the front of hotel, park and walk to reception where the correct tickets can be obtained for parking. 15€ per night charge. "Fantastically place hotel right outside the gates of the cite in Carcassonne. Friendly and helpful staff right from arrival to leaving, rooms were very nice and all the facilities were there if required."

"When we arrived at the hotel it had closed down four weeks previously. A notice on the door informed us to which hotel we had been transferred. This was difficult to access as the hotel next to The Chevalier( our new destination) was still under construction. There was no drop off point for luggage and my husband had to carry all bags from a car park about 7 minutes walk away. We were greeted by black billowing smoke. "The medieval city of Carcossonne is amazing, like stepping back in time, and staying at the Hotel De La Cite just contributes to this feeling (although only build in 1880's). A grand, imposing building directly opposite the Basilicca puts it at the heart of the old city. Excellent service, lovely comfortable rooms and a garden that is great for relaxing in the afternoon sun."
