"All the staff are so welcoming and kind. The restaurant is excellent with a fine selection of dishes, we had dinner on both nights and the food was delicious with generous portions. The selection from the buffet at breakfast was well presented and fresh. The Eggs Benedict is superb. Facilities are excellent,, they only reason I gave four stars is the shower gel dispensers are in need of a servicing or replacement as the plunger sticks down which is frustrating as it needs to be pulled back up to dispense more product. This is the second visit here and we definitely intend to stay at The Great North Hotel again next time in Newcastle... There is no better option. Highly recommend. "

"Lovely stay overall. I booked a single room but got upgraded to a double one. The room is dated but had everything you need plus a bathtub which was amazing after a working day! Newcastle sightseeing spots are in walking distance there is a 10 mins walk to a shopping centre. Amazing if you’re travelling by train as the train station is juts next door. There is no noise in the room at all though. Highly recommending!"
