"Friendly and welcoming staff. The air in the room was very poor. CO2 levels on 1800-2200 if we didn't open the window. The ventilation just circulated the air. Had to sleep with the window open to get the co2 down and made the room cold and damp due to the February weather. "

"Beautiful, clean, well appointed room with fantastic views over countryside The hotel is situated in a lovely Derbyshire village with many local walks and places of interest nearby. Staff were helpful and efficient. Food was of a high standard if a tad overpriced "

"The Devonshire is perfectly located in the hills around Chesterfield. It is spotlessly clean, beautifully appointed rooms with comfy beds and super quiet with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Dining options in the pub restaurant were vast and the food delicious with a really friendly team. Final bonus - REAL MILK provided in the fridge for proper morning coffee. Cannot recommend enough. Thank you team Devonshire. "

"Very comfortable and clean room, friendly, helpful and professional staff. Quiet area and quiet at night - road busier in the day but not a problem unless you were having a very long lie in! One night stay whilst at a local music gig (Jazz at the Lescar) for which the Psalter was convenient and very pleasant. Good value. Would stay again."

"This is the perfect stay for those who holiday with their hound. Our room had its own private garden which backed on to a popular pathway. Our every need was catered for - from a welcome cake to a delicious breakfast and plenty of drinks for the room. There are dog-friendly restaurants nearby, including the lovely Devonshire Arms. You’re only a short drive away from Chatsworth and Bakewell etc. "

"Lovely stay. The staff was great! Everyone went out of their way to be kind and helpful, even helping when our plans to tour local sites got messed up by a very heavy winter storm that caused power outages. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was a bit pricey, but excellent quality and our servers could not have been better. Breakfast every morning was delicious and, again, our server was lovely. Would recommend this hotel if touring Derbyshire area. "
