"Impressive building with a feeling of class and sophistication. Staff friendly and helpful. Gym is good for a hotel facility. We picked a garden view room which was worth it as the view was fantastic to wake up to. Nice bar and (depending on which time of year you go) ‘Thors tipi’ located in the grounds, gave a lovely Xmas vibe. Came a few years ago and the hotel has benefited massively from the refurb. Right next to the train station. Parking onsite "

"After some of the reviews, we didn’t expect much but the hotel was pretty good. The staff were universally excellent and friendly, particularly those on the bar on the Friday. The hotel was very dog friendly- you can’t go into the restaurant but everything there is available in the lounge and bar and it’s much better there for dogs anyway. "The decor was lovely and different. We enjoyed the bath in the room, felt like a treat. The underfloor heating in the large bathroom was nice and the coffee machine was a nice extra too.
