"We were sent to a 1 bedroom apartment instead of 2 as originally booked for first 3 nights as the excuse was that it needed repairs. "My family loves this unit, especially my 12yo girl. She loves the vibes and design. Though it's not very spacious, but big enough for three of us. Unit is well-equipped too, with cooking utensils, shower gel and shampoo, clean towels, washing machine... And alot more 🙂 Dennis was very kind to bring over an umbrella for this rainy seasons. He gave very clear instructions and directions to get into the unit too, so both check-in and out, were smooth and easy. P/S : various New Year's Countdown...

"the places' location is great, the view from our 2-room apartment to the sea is stunning. While I kind of liked the setup of the Apartment some proper and professional renovation would do a lot of good, and overall cleaning would help. "I am glad that i got to stay in this apartment when i am in Penang with family. The unit is unique, clean and modern looking. All of our family members enjoy the stay here. When we left Penang, we have accidentally left a bag in the apartment. The owner has let us known and go above and beyond to help sending the bag back to us, greatly appreciated! Will definitely be back again next time we are in Penang!"

"Great place to stay! Steps away from the beach. Loved the pool with kids pool being a bonus. Having a wide selection of TV channels was great. Watched some Olympics. "There are call girls going up to the rooms! Not shocking when there are many tourists staying there, never stay again, the room are dirty , bathroom are dirty , kitchen is not fully equipped, can’t find coffee spoon , no knifes only 5 sets of fork and spoon , old dirty cup and plates , mattress is old and sagging "

"Absolutely beautiful hotel we were staying at Shangri-La in Batu Feringgi beach and felt it was pretty lack lustre in comparison to other Shangri LA’s so we came to George Town for the night. This hotel from the staff to the beautiful design is top notch it’s probably one of the most beautiful designed hotels I’ve been to and the staff go out of their way. It’s walking distance from most things. We are sad to leave today wishing we are staying here for the rest of the holiday "

Great stay, as you would expect from a double tree

"Large and comfortable room, nice shower, room safe and everything else you would need. I’m not sure how old the hotel is but it is just starting to feel a little dated in the rooms. Staff were super friendly and helpful, also nice to have the pool table and a few other activities in the lobby. We had an issue with the fridge not working in our room which they resolved straight away. Gym was decent size and very quiet when we were here also. It is in a bit of an odd location where you must get a Grab everywhere but they are cheap and available. "

"Under my circumstances the hotel was beautiful. Careful in the sun. I got a little sunburned because of a lack of enough umbrellas. But great place. Prices in bar and restaurants a bit high. Guess they figure if you can pay for the place, you won't mind the prices. Breakfast buffet was awesome. Staff incredibly friendly "

"This was the second time we stayed at the Ascott within a month. We were in Penang for over three weeks to celebrate the Chinese New Year with our family in Penang. We decided to stay here again on the same trip. We like the amenities offered by Ascott such as the in-room washer and dryer, spacious room layout and excellent staff service. We walked to Gurney Plaza shopping mall and avoided the headaches of finding parking in the crowded shopping mall garage. This is a great hotel and we will certainly stay here again in the future."
