B&B in Alaska

"called shuttle from airport and it arrived a few minutes later - very efficient, lovely lobby with gas open fire and easy chairs. efficient check in and elevator, nice large room with efficient heating and fridge + microwave. comfortable bed, nice side view of lake. lots of eating options within 5 minutes walk. (but authorities hadn’t cleared or gritted the sidewalks so I was marooned in the hotel unless I took a cab or Uber - wouldn’t bother to visit city in Winter again- too dangerous)"

"We stayed here over the new years week. It was cold but the property was convenient and we could walk most places we wanted to go to near the hotel. The hotel was clean and is in the midst of renovation but that had very little impact on us. The new years festival was literally outback, they had food trucks and fireworks. We did rent a car so we could go other places in Anchorage. There were two things that bothered me a little: was our room didn’t get freshened up every day. I had to ask for towels almost every day. But the room was clean and new. The decor was great (aviation, some leather). And the parking situation…. If you have a car you have to park on the street and pay at meters or pay out back and pay $15 per night or park across the street in the parking garage. There’s nothing on their website about parking before we went. There’s also no restaurant right now because of renovations. There was a security guard day and night stationed in the lobby. Our room was in the road side and every night there were drunk people walking by yelling (not the hotels fault) so ask for a room on the parking lot side. The people who worked there were very nice and accommodating. Would stay there again. "

"Pikes Waterfront is a fantastic place to stay in Fairbanks. It's close to the airport and provides a free shuttle bus. Its well kept and has beautiful decor that suits the log cabin style buildings. There is a complimentary breakfast with lots of selections to choose from. Enjoy the pool table, theater, kidsplay area, reindeer amd other activities on site. The chena river is right in the backyard and theres a great observation area to watch the northern lights"

"Beautiful resort and very friendly and caring staff! We’ve received a complementary room upgrade. Thank you!!!! The Cleaning staff was wonderful and the hotel manager Bassie rocks! The restaurants are just ok… with the exception of Sakura. Ask for Megan! She is so happy, friendly, and very informative. You will learn a lot about the local life realities and she will suggest the best dishes. We shall return …. In the summer :) "
