"Excellent food. Fabulous service from reception, bar and restaurant. Beautiful location with amazing views. Friendly hospitable staff. Plenty of parking. Room was comfortable and spacious. It’s an old building with the related issues (you’d creak a bit if you were that old!). The breakfast buffet was limited however the cooked breakfast food more than made up for this. The evening meals were outstanding. We were part of a group of 6 and none of us were disappointed with the choice or quality. "

"The room was clean and tidy & had everything we needed. It would have been helpful we’d been advised that there was an engagement party & live band playing that night as we were staying as we were running the Delamere Forest Marathon the next morning and hoping for an early night as we had an early start. As the rooms were directly above the music there was no chance of this! The music did stop just after 11pm so not too bad! "

"Lovely stay. Room was really clean and has everything you would need. Staff were lovely. In a really convenient place so you can walk to local restaurants and bars or get a taxi into the centre. Breakfast was great and had loads of options. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!"

"Our stay was very comfortable and it was a great location for our stopover between Scotland and Devon. The host was very efficient, friendly and accommodating to our needs. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The only downside was the en suite bathroom which had a sensor light. This made any night time toilet trips impossible to make without waking someone up with the light and extractor fan. The shower pressure was very weak & the sink was tiny. "Lovely hotel in lovely grounds. Great value for the standard. Good bar and had good breakfast with particularly good service from the gentleman running the breakfast room - apologies that I didnt get his name - but made for a most enjoyable breakfast experience and made our stay even better."
